A Clockwork Orange.

please let there not ever be a remake!

Perfect movie.

Things like this REALLY make my blood boil. Remake it? WHY? I’m curious what pompous ass of a director want’s to do this. Clearly the bastard has their head too far up their ass to even dare think they could remake a Kubric masterpiece and make it “better”. I mean what is this shit, NOTHING is sacred anymore. It thouroughly disgusts me, as if it’s not bad enough there are people like Tim Burton in the world who go around ruining childrens classics.

I was just having this very discussion with a friend of mine.  Burton hasn’t directed anything worth watching in years…with perhaps the exception of Big Fish.

Remakes that he has blundered:

  • Alice in Wonderland (technically a sequel but what kind of arrogant ass thinks he can expound on the work of Louis Carroll).
  • Sweeney Todd
  • Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
  • Planet of the Apes

…Currently he is working on Dark Shadows and the Addams Family.  What could he bring to either?  The man hasn’t had an original thought since Edward Scissorhands…that coupled with the fact that his two wives (Depp and Bohnam-Carter) are featured in nearly all of his movies.  Yawn…try something else.

Napalm - hopefully he never gets his hands on anything Kubric particularly Clockwork Orange.

Incidentally - I was Alex from Clockwork this past Halloween.  It was a blast - I sat at work with a tall glass of milk muttering Alex-isms at passers by.
